What does it feel like?

Most people find the procedure to be quite relaxing, with little or no discomfort. bottle of water

Isn't it embarrassing?

Not at all. Your therapy takes place in a private treatment room by a trained therapist who understands the sensitivity of the procedure.

Is there any mess or smell?

None whatsoever. The equipment forms a sealed system that carries away all the waste cleanly and hygienically.

How safe is it?

Your comfort and peace of mind is important to us. Modern equipment constantly monitors the water temperature and pressure to ensure your complete safety.

Are there any after effects?

Most people feel great after a colonic, with renewed energy and vitality. However, you may feel a little under the weather for around 24 hours. This is natural and will pass quickly.

How many treatments do I need?

Each client is treated on an individual basis; however, we recommend an initial course of three treatments over a few weeks in order to gain maximum benefit from the therapy.

Will it clean out my ‘good’ bacteria too?

Your colonic will thoroughly cleanse the colon, taking both helpful and harmful bacteria with it. That’s why Natural Balance recommends a course of Acidophilus capsules to replenish your good bacteria after your treatment.

Are there circumstances where colonic therapy should not be performed?

Yes, certain medical conditions would prevent you from having the treatment. If you are in any doubt, please feel free to call us for professional advice.

Can I have a colonic during my period?

Yes. There is no reason why the procedure would not be successful.

I’m pregnant. Can I still have a colonic?

We prefer not to carry out colonics on pregnant women.

Why has my doctor not suggested a colonic?

We do have patients who were recommended to have a colonic by their GP. However, some doctors say that colonic irrigation is unnecessary as the body can eliminate toxins and waste as a matter of course. The fact that you are considering a colonic shows this is clearly not the case.
